Skyview High School
Weight Training

Grading for these levels will be based on the following three criteria:

1. Grade Book Points. Each student will receive a grade based upon grade book points, which takes into account attendance, tardiness, following the program established for them, and compliance of the "Weight Room Rules". Grading policies for PE will apply for all weight training classes. If a student receives an "F" for this section of the grade they will receive an "F" for the quarter. Everyone MUST pass this criteria, before the other two criteria will be considered as part of their grade.
2. The next two criteria will utilize core lifts. Each student will be tested in the following core lifts.

3. Percent of total pounds lifted above body weight. Each student will receive a grade in this criteria based upon the percent of the total pounds they above their body weight on the Core Lifts.

The formula for this section is: (T-(Wx3)/W)100=%>W

T = total pounds lifted in the three Core Lifts listed above. W = student's body weight.

4. Increase in Strength Level for all three Core Lifts. The grade in this section is the increase of the total pounds lifted for the strength levels of the three Core Lifts.

Quarter Grade The quarter grade will be the average of the five criteria above, then using the scale below the letter grade will be given. The semester grade will be the average between the quarter grades.
